Internship: Artist
As an art intern at Winterkeep, you will be part of the development team and work hands-on with game art for a PC strategy game in active development. The internship is focused on contributing to real production work and collaborating closely with other disciplines in the team.
There are no formal requirements, but prior Photoshop, Blender or Maya exposure to as part of your education is a plus.
What you will work on
Depending on your background and skills you can either be a concept artist, working with developing and creating culture distinctness to the various factions in the game. Or, if you are more of a level designer, work directly with the world, putting assets in the game and making the world come alive.Â
What you will learn
You will learn how to work as part of a professional game development team and gain a deeper understanding of game art in a production environment. You will learn about workflows, iteration, and how art assets are created, reviewed, and integrated into the game.
You will work closely with artists, designers, and programmers, and gain insight into how visual direction, gameplay, and technical constraints come together in a finished game.
Application
When applying, we encourage you to describe what type of game art you are most interested in working with and what you want to develop further during your internship.
